Kicking Against the Pricks

When YHWH reveals to us a Truth,
Whatever that Truth may be,
It is up to us to change our life accordingly,
To submit to Him and bend the knee

Why is it that so many people say that they follow the Scripture
And live according to the commandments it contains,
Yet when you point out an area where they are falling short
The commandments have been changed, they maintain?

Most people know that Messiah was not born on Christmas;
Yet they refuse to listen to reason,
Saying that the traditions of man are of great importance
As they continue to keep the manmade season.

Not realizing all the while they do this,
That the Scripture teaches us in Spirit and Truth to worship;
And that by refusing to yield to the Scripture,
The voyage they are on is a sinking ship.

Or consider the names they continue to use
When in the front of their Bible it states,
That the Name of the Creator is YHWH
And the Name of the son is Yeshua, it relates.

This is what they claim to be the truth:
All their possessions on the altar they have lain
Yet to Kingdom building work they fail to support
Which will prove to be their bane.

The festivals of YHWH are clearly commanded
For all to follow, even in our day.
Yet they would not heed in the least
But would rather kick against the pricks all the way.

One would think that it would be much easier
And certainly much more pleasant it would be
If they would yield and receive the shalom from above
By just walking in His Truth, you see.
