One Torah For All

One Torah shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
Exodus 12:49

Beshert

We collided with destiny that day
Though each thought the other full of conceit.
Our streams soon merged into a single way,
Showing each, how the other to complete.

It was like twins separated at birth,
Still connected in spite of the expanse.
Our alliance immeasurable worth,
The foundation of mutual romance.

But soul-mates are not the absence of strife
As the varnished ideal would have you pine.
Pruning is just as much a part of life
As dual lives struggle to intertwine.

Each reflected in the other’s mirror
Causing the two to grow ever nearer.
